Five Marvelous Things To Do on you Turks and Caicos Islands Vacation

Mar, 28 || No Comments |

Turks and Caicos Islands are a British Oversees Territory that is located in the Caribbean. It consists of tropical islands with clear waters, moderate climate and several tourists’ spots. In order to fully utilise the tourism potential of Turks and Caicos Islands, a private villa rental is by all means inevitable. You will need to rent your own private Turks & Caicos villa in order to have the freedom to roam out and about the island since all its potential cannot be fully exploited in a day or two. There are a plethora of fun-activities that one can engage in while on the island.

These include but are not limited to the following:

Scuba diving

Scuba diving under the Caribbean waters is a world of untold adventure in and of itself. Scuba diving is widely practised within three islands in Turks and Caicos Islands namely: Providenciales, Grand Turk and Salt Cay respectively. It is manly practiced in the summer between June and October when temperatures are high enough. The visibility of the waters is between 50 and 150 feet below the water surface which gives lots of room for divers.

Snorkelling through the Caribbeans waters in diving mask and fins is just as magical as the scuba diving can be. Snorkelling is mainly undertaken in Providenciales, Caicos and Provo Islands owing to the fact that the waters there are temperate, clean, clear and gentle with a very vibrant and rich marine life. It is mainly performed in the summer due to the conducive temperatures and abundant sunshine then.

Yachting, full sail, in the mystical Caribbean seas is another great Turks and Caicos Vacation must.  Yachting is mainly undertaken in the Blue Haven Marina that is located on the Providenciales Islands given the fact that it is deep (can accommodate yachts of up to 220 metres in depth and a maximum draft of 8.5 feet) during periods of low tide. On the whole, Turks and Caicos Islands are ideal for yachting given their tropical climate, clear waters and sheltered beaches.

Whale watching

Observing the whales in their natural habitats is a breathtaking and rare honored activity. Whale watching is mainly practiced within the Salt Cay region since it is home to many whales with the most outstanding species being the humpback whale. Several charter companies are on standby to take you through the whole process. They include Whale Watching Tours and Turks and Caicos Diving – just to mention but a few!

Surfing the waves of the Caribbean, watching the shoreline from the excitement of a surfboard is beyond rewarding. Surfing is widely practised in the Pine Cay Shorebreak area due to the facts that it is sheltered and surfable at all stages of the tides. There are offshore winds originating from the south-eastern direction. Surfers are advised to beware of private beach sharks and urchins though.

As is quite evident from the foregoing discussions, one ought to look no further than Turks and Caicos Islands while planning for a vacation. That’s because a memorable vacation is not possible without diving, surfing, whale watching, yachting, snorkelling and scuba diving – all at a pocket friendly cost and in a crowd-less area. A visit to the Turks and Caicos Islands is therefore a must, for any serous tourist. By all means, you as a potential tourist deserve this fun-filled getaway.
